From uncertainty to a path of your own.

Think DataHub helps young people in vulnerable situations use data and real guidance — not just good intentions — to decide their next step: keep studying, find a job, or start a business.

The starting point

In Colombia, a young person's future still depends too much on their zip code and their wallet.

These are the real gaps Think DataHub aims to close, based on the national figures Educamás uses to design its support pathway. Each gap is met with a concrete program design decision.

41%
of young people between 18 and 28 do not continue their studies due to lack of resources.
→ Response: socio-occupational guidance and life planning, 100% free.
54%
of families report financial difficulties covering the cost of higher education.
→ Response: digitized, reusable content, with no enrollment cost per young person.
6/10
young people work in informal jobs due to a lack of relevant training or skills.
→ Response: data analysis, programming, and power skills applied to real projects.
34%
female participation in STEM in Colombia — and just 17% in programming.
→ Response: gender-focused outreach; 70.2% of participants were women.

That's why Think DataHub wasn't designed as a stand-alone course, but as a complete pathway: outreach, training, close support, and connection to real opportunities, hosted on Educamás Online so the cost per young person keeps dropping with every new generation.

How it works

A pathway, not a stand-alone course.

Think DataHub combines vocational guidance, digital literacy, data analysis, and close support in a single journey, hosted and maintained on Educamás Online.

01

Outreach and selection 322 applicants

Early identification and profiling of young people in vulnerable situations, supported by a network of local partners.

02

Comprehensive training 257 start

Vocational guidance and life planning, digital literacy, logical thinking, programming, Excel, Google Sheets, SQL, and power skills.

03

Close support 206 complete

Individual follow-up with teachers and co-facilitators to keep motivation up when life — work, family, distance — gets in the way.

04

Graduation 179 graduate

Learning based on real data analysis projects, applied to decisions about their own educational and career path.

05

Positive outcome 126 in transition

Continuing education, formal employment, or entrepreneurship — whichever path makes sense for each young person's stage in life, not a single one-size-fits-all goal.

The numbers

Verifiable results, not just intentions.

Think DataHub program figures, measured and reconciled alongside the project's budget execution.

257
young people started training — 122% of the initial goal of 210.
179
young people graduated, against a goal of 152.
126
have already reached a positive outcome: study, employment, or entrepreneurship.
70.2%
of participants were women, against a minimum goal of 40%.
11
departments of Colombia reached, together with 22 strategic allies.
73%
reduction in the estimated cost per young person compared to the previous model.
Population focus

Prioritizing isn't just a nice word — it's measured.

Every inclusion goal was set before the program began and reviewed at its close, including the one goal that wasn't fully met.

Socioeconomic strata 1, 2, and 3
100%
of participants belong to populations in economically vulnerable situations.
Women goal: 40%
70.2%
of participants were women — almost double the minimum goal.
Ethnic population goal: 5%
8.4%
ethnic population participation, above what was expected.
Disability goal: minimum 1
10
young people with disabilities graduated from the program.

The one goal that didn't close as expected was for the migrant population: the target was 15% and 5.6% was reached. Most migrant applicants hadn't taken the Saber 11 exam — a requirement for some pathways into further education and employment — or had no computer at home. We're recording this rather than hiding it: it's the learning that's already shaping the digital resource kit and the differentiated outreach mechanisms for the program's next phase.

Ecosystem

The partners who made it possible to go further.

Think DataHub doesn't stand alone: it relies on public institutions, foundations, and social organizations that opened up outreach, referrals, and real opportunities in every territory.

One story among 257

When life asks you to pause the path.

A few weeks after starting, one of the participants — a young mother caring for her small child — was on the verge of dropping out. She was going through a demanding personal and family situation that left little room for classes.

The vocational support component gave her close follow-up: one-on-one sessions to recognize her abilities and reorder her priorities. She pursued her life plan, built her résumé in an employability workshop, and, weeks later, completed her training.

Months later she landed her first formal job. She didn't get into university on her first try — and she's already preparing to try again.

What's left behind

The investment didn't disappear when the training ended.

Think DataHub left behind reusable pedagogical and technological capacity at Educamás, ready for new generations of young people.

Efficient use of resources

Educamás Online turned investment into savings per student.

Before Cisco, Educamás was already training young people — but on a smaller and more costly scale. By digitizing the pathway on Educamás Online, the cost of reaching each young person dropped while coverage grew.

2024 Model · before Educamás Online
$1,404 USD
estimated cost per young person
  • 70 young people started training
  • 37 reached a positive outcome
  • Content custom-built for each cycle
With Think DataHub · on Educamás Online
$378 USD
estimated cost per young person — 73% less
  • 257 young people started training
  • 126 reached a positive outcome
  • 100% of modules digitized and reusable

The difference isn't magic: it's that Educamás Online hosts 100% of the pathway and close to 175 learning resources — presentations, quizzes, workbooks, videos — that no longer need to be rebuilt for every new generation of young people. Each new group of young people costs less than the last, because the platform reuses what's already been built and validated.
